Jason P. Diaz
Director of Golf and Club Operations
Jason joined the South Bend Country Club team in May of 2005. Prior to his arrival he was the Head Golf Professional at the Baltimore Country Club in Timonium, Maryland. Professionally he brings additional experiences from the Valhalla Golf Club, Lancaster Country Club, Hurstbourne Country Club, and The Riverton Country Club. Jason is a graduate of Penn State's Professional Golf Management Program. He and his wife Beth have two children, Jayden and Mia.
Justin DeFont
Certified Head PGA Golf Professional
Justin became a part of the South Bend Country Club team in March of 2006. He is a graduate of Methodist College’s Professional Golf Management Program in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Prior experience includes Toftrees Resort, Baltimore Country Club, The Tournament Players Club at Avenel, Crooked Stick Golf Club, and Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond, Indiana.
Leland Andersen
Head Chef
Executive Chef Leland Andersen is our newest staff member. He has 23 years of culinary experience and recently relocated from Nashville , Tennessee. Leland is a graduate of Purdue University, studying Hotel and Restaurant management, the Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, New York. Most recently he was the Chef de Cuisine at Ellendale’s restaurant, a high volume fine dining restaurant in Nashville. He was Executive Chef at several high end European cuisine restaurants in Melbourne Beach, Florida, where his youngest daughter currently lives. Leland also went through the ranks with Rainforest Café to become an Executive Chef at locations in Phoenix, Miami, and Nashville.
Demond Scott
Food & Beverage Director
Demond Scott, a native of North Miami Beach, Florida, along with his wife recently relocated to South Bend from Indianapolis. Prior to his arrival, he was the Banquet Manager at The Fort Wayne Hilton at The Grand Wayne Convention Center in Fort Wayne, IN. Demond brings with him a diverse Food & Beverage background. The Columbia Club in Indianapolis and Woodland Country Club in Fishers, IN are previous stops in his career. Demond is a Graduate of The College of the Bahamas in Freeport, Bahamas where he studied Culinary Arts.
Eric Cross
Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course Superintendent since February 2004. Prior to joining us at South Bend Country Club, Eric worked eight years as the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent of Fort Wayne Country Club. Eric earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Turfgrass Management from Purdue University in 1995. He is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, Michiana Golf Course Superintendents Association, Hoosier Turfgrass Association, and Midwest Regional Turf Foundation. Eric and his wife, Shantel, have two sons, Mason and Ryan.
Karen Nutty
Club Accountant
Prior to joining the South Bend Country Club Staff in 1998, Karen worked in several other business-related positions from bookkeeper to administrative assistant. Additional experience includes real estate sales, leasing operations, and owner-operator of personal horse boarding facility.
